Hello, my elderly father is having trouble reaching stuff on higher shelves. Other than moving all of his belongings to lower shelves, does anyone else have any suggestions? I could put a stepper but he has troubles going up stairs.

Thank you very much

OK, I'll bite...Sure, a reacher (of suitable quality, not just toy but a "rehab reacher") is a great idea, but why *not* move the stuff he needs to get at most often down to lower shelves?

You can buy grabbers if he still has some grip strength. Google "long-reach pick up gripper" and you'll see what I mean. It wouldn't be good for super heavy things, but for smaller things, it's great. Also for reaching things that are just out of reach like a dropped remote control.

You can buy them in the $1 Store. Don't they pick up a handkerchief before it breaks. The ones from the pharmacy are better but the really strong ones come from the Home Improvement stores. These have suction cups on the end and really will pick up cans etc
