I have to work at home during the pandemic, and my mother who is a lifelong sufferer of BPD, has episodes that make it very difficult for me to work and have peace of mind. There are no other relatives to help, and she doesn't have any money (I take care of her completely.) She's basically like a toddler throwing tantrums when she gets like this, and she doesn't understand that other people also have feelings, and that I have to be able to work to go on supporting her. As her daughter, she views me as a safe target for her anger. She's 80. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Try to set boundaries? Try to find someway to get someone to be with her so you can get some time for yourself?
The thing is to have boundaries.
She can apply for Medicaid and get a caregiver.
Wish you all the best
