MIL has arthritic hands as well as carpal tunnel syndrome in one hand. She is having a harder time with zip top bags, especially her packaged frozen fruit bags.
Those click closed containers are impossible for her to snap shut.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have exhausted Google search.
Thank you

My mom just uses a bowl and puts a plate on top, a plate that fits snuggly, but mostly for refrigerator left overs

I have used the lids to my smaller pots for leftovers , they fit in some mixing bowls or even on top of plates and the handle on top makes it easy to pull the lid out .

A bowl with aluminum foil over it. Or, they make these shower cap type things to use as covers over bowls.

It'll be difficult to freeze foods using these methods, however, so maybe mom can buy fresh foods in smaller amounts.

Is she able to use the zipper type bags , with the little plastic piece that slides , as opposed to the ziplock where you have to line up the grooves ?
Maybe she could use this for food she makes , leftovers for the freezer .

Check out the Ableware 753600000 One Handed Canister Set (Pack of 3) available on Amazon. Ziploc twist n loc containers might work for her too.

I have trouble resealing some of those bags that frozen food comes in . I roll the top
over a couple of times and put an old fashioned wooden clothesline clip with the metal spring to keep it closed . These are easier than chip clips . I use them on chip bags, the bags inside the cereal box, my Pepperidge Farm cookie bags etc . I love my wooden clothesline clips . I keep a pretty bowl of my wooden clips on the counter .
You can buy 100 of them on Amazon for a few dollars . They sometimes break , but 100 pack lasts me years .

Find some old Corel bowls with glass lids.

Zip Lock the brand is pretty easy. Those off brands are hard.

Get the ones with the sliders. Very easy to open and close. Or use a plastic tub. You can buy a case at Walmart

I don’t there is anything apart from covering container tops with foil or cling film ?
or just test a lid top on top of the container - a larger lid top than the container might work better
good luck

If you put the items in containers, here are great silicone lid products I found:

https://charlesviancin.com/collections/shop-all-lids

I first saw these at our local Mast General Store and bought several for Christmas gifts.

I have trouble closing zip tops and then have trouble getting them open because my hands are weak. As others have said, I too use clips to close store bought products that have zip top closures. I love WayToMisery suggestion of wooden clothes pins... very affordable.

I have terrible arthritis in my hands as well. I get the least expensive plastic bags that come with twist ties. Heavens No....I don't use them. I have user friendly clips....but usually put rubber bands, after gathering and folding the bag down, over the whole bundle. I LOVE RUBBER BANDS. I BUY A BIG BAG AT SAMS because they are good quality.
I hope this helps. God Bless You for looking out for help for your wife.🌻

Also to cover bowls etc.....the dollar stores sell packages of tops that are different sizes that are made like shower caps. You get a mess of different sizes for a mere $1.25.
You can choose to wash or toss. I wash because I can, and I don't like to waste anything.
