My husband bought a van because the number of kids we have increased by one. So now with 4 kids we have more room. The problem is my elderly father needed transportation badly, so I allowed him to use the car that's registered with Medicaid. The Medicaid vehicle is valued at zero because its excluded. Will the van that's worth about $4,500 show up and throw my kids and husband off of medicaid? My renewal came pre-populated with the original vehicle on it, plus a request for bank statements which is normal. My question is if I haven't bought or sold the vehicle in close to a year, will it show up on the database and will it matter at that price?
I would think if for health that you would be allowed 2 cars if u both work. Even if u don't work u would need a second car to get around. I guess you r saying that a second car would be listed as an asset raising your income?
If you get a lawyer it has to be one versed in Medicaid.
