If he has lost his sight there is not much you can do. There are audio books. You can buy them thru Amazon and play them on a computer, cell phone or tablet. If you have a CD or DVD player you can purchase them. You may have to write checks. For transportation call your local Office of Aging. They maybe able to help you find resources for the blind.

If your husband is not under the care of an opthamalogical specialist, he needs to be. Ask his primary care physician to refer you to one. What is the reason he has lost his sight? Are there underlying medical issues such as diabetes? Is he folllwing his doctor’s orders? Do you drive? If not, I believe
Medicare will cover medical transport to a Doctor.

Google the phone number for your local Area Agency on Aging. You can also contact your local office of the Society For The Blind. You can also dial 211 if you have that service in your city. Explain to them what your husband’s issues are and they can direct you.
