My in-laws are taking care of their 90 year old grandmother in the DFW, Texas area and need a hospital bed for hospice care. Please let me know if we can take your unneeded bed.

Hospice should be providing anything needed to care for the client. That includes a hospital bed, oxygen needed, Depends, prescriptions, etc. If they aren't, you need to find another Hospice. When the person passes, The provider should be there to pick up their equipment within a few days. For my Dad it was the next day.

Hospice provided a hospital bed to my brother. In fact insisted on it because care is so much more easily delivered. Your inlaws should ask hospice about this. The rental is covered by medicare as is other hospice care. Good luck.

As BarbBrooklyn said, hospice will provide a hospital bed along with any other equipment, supplies and medications needed, all covered 100% under grandmothers Medicare. I'm surprised that the hospice agency didn't let them know that.
