I was appalled to read how your grandkids are "reverting back to diapers".

You're not abusing your POA at all, Smiling Tulip! You're making good use of it. Your mom will be cared for in her own home. Huge props (kudos) to your daughter for trying, but your mother is sabotaging her great intentions.

Wow! I think your mother is very self centered. Me personally, will try to find a way to be taken care of and not expect my kids to disrupt their lives. I love my children and want them to be happy. Taking care of and watching a elderly parent deteriote is so depressing.

It’s good that your daughter has found out for herself that you are not the unfeeling wicked witch of the west. However it could be the best idea to mend any holes in the bridge with your daughter, and plan jointly with her what to do. She needs your sympathy, even if ‘I told you so’ would be fully justified. You cannot save your daughter from herself if she insists on continuing to take care, and your daughter needs you to be by her side, not grandma calling the shots and not you calling the shots either. Don’t put her in a situation where she feels she has to dig her toes in and keep going!
