Contact your husband's Doctor. He/She can write a prescription for a Hospital Bed, and turn it into his insurance to get authorization. You can rent one from a medical supply company this way. We wound up paying around $15.00 a month this way for my Mom's. Delivery was free, and it included a mattress.
It will be semi-electric, with a remote control for the patient to move up the head/legs, and will also have a crank at the end if you need to raise or lower the bed.

Check with ur health insurance and see if they provide them.

Redcross, fire house, and if in your State Ruritans. Or a similar organization.

I would post this on next door.com or Craigslist. Beds are often given away but without delivery.
