Signify Health sent a nurse to assess my parents in 2022, which was fine, and for the last several months have been calling to set up assessments for this year. We have scheduled several times only to have them cancel, the most recent being today. Also, once an appointment has been scheduled, more calls may follow from agents who apparently don't know that an appointment has already been scheduled. It has become almost harassment for me. Is it alright for me to just tell them no at this point?

I have Medicare Advantage and Signify Health is partnered with them. When my husband and I allow the visit, we get a reward from our insurance in the form of a gift card among 4 other awards each year. Those nurses twho visit us actually have PhDs. As part of the exam, they may bring equipment that our PCP may not have to screen for such as peripheral vascular disease or they have a spirometer to screen for lung disease. My mom in her 90s in another state also had these visiting assessments for over 10 years.
I can see why some people may find this rather intrusive.. I asked my PCP and she said this is common for insurance to help identify certain markers of health that may be early to diagnose. She said it keeps doctors on their toes as Signify Health would pass on the info. The reason that insurance does this is they see a significant value in dollars and cents with additional screening as a second set of eyes, that their insured stay as healthy as possible.
I understand about those cancelations. They may be because the clients ahead of you are taking longer. Plus the scheduling system is loading up the workloads of their staff. It is more of a problem when my husband and I try to schedule for the same time because we get calls from different schedulers.

But they are wasting OPs time setting up an appt and cancelling. She may have had something else she may have wanted to do. And getting calls after the appt was made? Its been 20 yrs but back then I could leave notes on a customers accts and anyone with access could read them. I think this company is very unprofessional.

Soliciting has become a real nuisance. So sorry you are experiencing this.

Try contacting them to ask them to stop. Otherwise, ignore them and eventually they will go away.

Yes, it is alright to tell them no. You are no longer interested. I probably would have done it the second time they canceled. Definitely thev3rd time.

I would call and cancel the appt. I would tell them numerous appts have been made and canceled. Then numerous calls from agents after an appt has been set up. (Their system should be such that there are notes saying an appt has been made so no need to call u other than to confirming appt) Also, you have checked them out with BBB and they do not have a good rating. You are going with someone else. Please remove me from your phone list and any other lists you may be on.

No, my parents have Humana, but I did call Humana and they said yes, they work with them and it was fine to have them come and assess, but did not say it was mandatory. Last year's visit was mainly gathering information on health and meds, seemed it was mostly to help them, not to help my parents.

Do they handle your parent's health insurance?
If not, why are they calling and asking to assess?
If this is the case they are fishing for the health care contract.
It is open enrollment season likely that gets all this nonsense going.

Lots of complaints filed for Signify Health with the BBB for the promised gift cards that are seriously delayed. They seem to be a no cost service associated with Medicare Advantage plans. Google them. I'm sure you can refuse whatever service you choose not to partake of.
