Marie, what state do you live in? What is your financial situation? You may want to consider contacting social services and get assessed for help with in-home care and other forms of help. You might want to investigate assisted living in a care community so that you will be with others. Hopefully you have someone who is your durable PoA. If not, you can hire a professional to do that for you. Also, if you live near some churches you should contact their office or pastor and ask if they have a care ministry. Tell them your situation and they may be able to help you in some way. Let us know if you are able to get the help you need.

Hi. You need to look into hiring help at home or moving to a place that offers help with ADLs. Hiring someone for a few hours at home might give you enough time to explore other options. It all costs money, but depending on your finances, you might qualify for Medicaid which would help pay for it.

I’m glad you took the first step by recognizing you need extra help. That’s an important and often difficult realization. If you call AgingCare, they can connect you with information on local caregiving agencies and places to move into.
