There are bars that go over the tub side. Not sure if Medicare covers the cost but Medicaid does because my nephew uses one.

There are shower chairs that go over the tub side. This is my favorite because it slides in. Medicare does not pay for shower chairs.

I found the problem with these type chairs is the configuration of the bathroom.

I was a secretary for a VNA and we had a durable equipment loan closest. People would donate equipment. If you can't afford to purchase these things, then check with Red Cross or even your firehouse to see if they loan out equipment. Ruritan's is a National Service mostly in rural areas that have loan closets. Look on Facebook yardsales in your area., Craigs list and Neigbors.com to see if someone is giving them away or selling.

Ask your primary doctor to order an OT eval . They can set you up with and show you how to use a sliding shower bench to safely get over the side of the tub and you can stay seated on the bench to shower.

Or look on Amazon for sliding shower benches to buy .
